Ingredients
- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 1⁄3 cup honey
- 1⁄3 cup Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, lemon juice, onion powder, and garlic powder until well combined.
3. Season the chicken breast halves with salt and pepper on both sides.
4. Place the chicken in a baking dish, arranging them so they do not overlap.
5. Pour the honey mustard mixture over the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated evenly.
6. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the juices run clear when the chicken is pierced with a fork, or a meat thermometer reads 165°F (74°C) when inserted into the thickest part of the breast.
7. If desired, switch the oven to broil for the last 2–3 minutes to give the chicken a crispy golden top.
8. Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
9. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs for added aroma and presentation, if using.
Notes
This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables or a fresh garden salad.
Adding a splash of white wine to the sauce can add an additional layer of flavor.
Marinating the chicken in the honey mustard mixture for a few hours before baking can enhance the flavor profile.
Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the sauce.
