Description

A fresh and vibrant Caprese salad bowl with juicy cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fragrant basil, and a sweet balsamic honey reduction.


Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 8 oz mozzarella ciliegine
  • 10 oz cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, finely chopped into ribbons
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste


Instructions

1. Add balsamic vinegar and honey to a small saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil.

2. Reduce heat to a gentle simmer and cook until the mixture reduces by half and becomes syrupy, about 10–15 minutes, then remove from heat.

3. In a large bowl, combine mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and basil.

4. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

5. Gently toss all ingredients until evenly mixed.

6. Slowly drizzle the balsamic reduction over the salad while tossing.

7. Taste and adjust with more reduction if desired.

8. Serve immediately and enjoy.


Notes

Use high-quality aged balsamic vinegar for the best flavor.

Do not over-reduce the balsamic glaze as it will thicken further when cooled.

Best served fresh, but can be chilled briefly before serving.

Optional additions include fresh greens, avocado, or toasted nuts for extra texture.
