Description

Once you try this buttery, boldly seasoned Chex Mix, there’s no going back to the bagged kind. Oven-baked for maximum crunch and soaked in real butter and Worcestershire, every bite is packed with bold flavor.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups mini salted pretzels
  • 1 cup rye bagel chips
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Lawry’s seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 250ºF.

2. In a large bowl, combine Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, Rice Chex, pretzels, bagel chips, and nuts.

3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter. Whisk in Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.

4. Gradually pour the butter mixture over the cereal mixture, stirring well after each addition to coat evenly.

5. Spread the mixture evenly onto two large rimmed baking sheets.

6. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes and rotating trays from top to bottom.

7. Remove from oven when mixture is golden brown and crisp.

8. Let cool completely before storing or serving.

Notes

All ovens vary, so check for doneness based on crispness and golden color.

Rotate baking trays every 15 minutes for even baking.

Add the butter mixture gradually to coat all pieces evenly.

If using salted butter or garlic salt, reduce the seasoned salt to avoid over-salting.
