Description

This Cajun Roasted Turkey Breast is loaded with bold flavor and crispy skin, thanks to a buttery Cajun spice rub. Perfect for smaller holiday meals or weeknight dinners, it delivers juicy, tender meat with minimal effort and maximum taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 (2 to 8 pound) turkey breast, preferably bone-in
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the turkey breast in a roasting dish or a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. In a small bowl, mix together paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, thyme, black pepper, white pepper, and cayenne pepper.

3. Mash the softened butter and olive oil together with the spice blend until fully combined.

4. Loosen the skin of the turkey breast with your fingers. Rub half of the butter mixture underneath the skin and the rest over the top of the turkey.

5. Roast in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes per pound, until a meat thermometer reads 160°F in the thickest part of the breast.

6. Remove from the oven and loosely cover with foil. Let rest for 15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

7. Slice and serve warm, spooning over pan drippings if desired.

Notes

The seasoning blend is portioned for a 4-pound turkey breast. Adjust quantities based on the size of your turkey.

Bone-in breasts cook more slowly than boneless, so monitor temperature rather than time alone.

Use a meat thermometer for best results and to avoid overcooking.

Leftovers are perfect for sandwiches, salads, or wraps.
