This Easy Chinese Ground Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry is a quick, flavorful weeknight meal made with tender beef, crisp cabbage, and a savory sauce. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s perfect for busy days!
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 4 cups green cabbage โ thinly sliced
- 1 small onion โ thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic โ minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger โ minced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar (optional)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 2 green onions โ sliced
- Salt and pepper โ to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare all ingredients by slicing the cabbage, onion, and green onions, and mincing the garlic and ginger.
2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, break it up, and brown for 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
3. Add sliced onion, minced garlic, and ginger. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion softens and aromatics are fragrant.
4. Add sliced cabbage and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the cabbage is tender but slightly crisp.
5. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar (if using), sugar, and red pepper flakes.
6. Pour sauce into the skillet. Stir well to coat everything and cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through.
7. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Garnish with sliced green onions.
8. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy your flavorful stir-fry!
