Description
A classic creamy chicken salad made with tender chicken, crunchy celery, red onion, and a tangy Dijon mayonnaise dressing. Perfect for sandwiches, wraps, or serving over greens.
Ingredients
- 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup diced celery (about 1/4-inch dice)
- 1/3 cup diced red onion or shallots (about 1/8-inch dice)
- 2 tablespoons sliced green onions or chives
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, add the cooked chicken, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, green onions, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
2. Stir everything together until well combined and the chicken is evenly coated with the dressing.
3. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if desired.
4. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Recipe yield is about 4 cups of chicken salad.
Serving size is approximately 1/2 cup.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
