This Decadent Creamy Garlic Mushroom & Spinach Chicken is a quick and comforting dish that feels gourmet but comes together in just 30 minutes. Tender chicken breasts are nestled in a rich garlic cream sauce with mushrooms and wilted spinach.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms (white or cremini)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet.
3. Cook the chicken for about 6–7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms.
5. Sauté until mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes.
6. Add the heavy cream and Italian seasoning, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer.
7. Add the fresh spinach and cook until wilted.
8. Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the creamy sauce.
9. Let it cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
10. Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor.
Great served over pasta, mashed potatoes, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
For a lighter option, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
