Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Green food coloring
- Sprinkles or decorative sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Add a few drops of green food coloring to achieve your desired shade of green.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
6. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
7. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
8. Once the cookies are completely cooled, decorate them with festive sprinkles or decorative sugar for a fun and colorful touch.
