Description

Ground Beef Stroganoff is a creamy and comforting dish made with tender ground beef in a rich mushroom sauce. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s the perfect weeknight meal served over egg noodles.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups beef broth
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles


Instructions

1. Heat oil in a large pot over high heat until shimmering.

2. Add ground beef and onions; cook until the beef is no longer pink (6–7 minutes), stirring occasionally.

3. Reduce heat to medium, add garlic, and sauté for about 30 seconds. Sprinkle in flour and mix well.

4. Stir in beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a simmer; reduce heat and cook for 4–5 minutes until thickened.

5. While the sauce thickens, cook egg noodles according to package directions; drain when done.

6. Serve the creamy beef sauce over the cooked egg noodles.


Notes

You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.

Add mushrooms or peas to boost the nutritional value.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently on the stovetop.
