Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Brown the ground beef for about 5–7 minutes; drain excess fat.
3. Add onions and garlic to the skillet and sauté until soft (3–4 minutes).
4. Layer cooked beef in the prepared baking dish.
5. Top with thinly sliced potatoes seasoned with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the top.
7. Pour beef broth (or water) around the edges of the dish. Add milk if using for extra creaminess.
8. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden.
10. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
Notes
Customize with your favorite vegetables such as mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers.
Leftovers reheat well—store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
For a richer flavor, use beef broth instead of water.
