Description

This sticky honey garlic ground turkey is the perfect weeknight dinner: quick, full of flavor, and made with simple pantry ingredients. Sweet honey, savory soy sauce, fresh garlic, and a splash of rice vinegar come together in a glossy glaze that clings to lean ground turkey. It’s budget-friendly, healthy, and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey (lean or extra-lean)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (canola or avocado)

Instructions

1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil and ground turkey. Cook, breaking it into crumbles, until browned and no longer pink (about 6–7 minutes).

2. Lower the heat to medium and add minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

3. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

4. Pour sauce into skillet. Stir to coat the turkey evenly. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened slightly.

5. Stir in green onions, reserving some for garnish. Remove from heat.

6. Serve over rice, noodles, or in lettuce cups. Garnish with remaining green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
  • Want to sneak in more veggies? Add shredded carrots, chopped bell peppers, or spinach near the end.
  • Double the sauce and use it on roasted veggies or grilled meats throughout the week.
