Description

Indulge in crispy Hot Honey Butter Chicken, where sweet heat meets buttery perfection in every bite!

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of sake
  • 1 tbsp of mirin
  • 1 tsp of sesame oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp of ginger, minced
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • ½ tsp of white pepper
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp of Hot Sauce
  • Potato starch, to coat
  • Neutral oil for frying
  • Hot honey sauce:
  • 5 tbsp of Hot Sauce
  • ¼ cup of honey
  • 2 tbsp of butter

Instructions

1. In a bowl, combine chicken with soy sauce, sake, mirin, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, white pepper, salt, egg white, and Hot Sauce.

2. Marinate in the fridge for 1 hour or overnight.

3. In a sauce pan, heat together hot sauce and honey until it simmers. Then, add cold butter. Once the butter has fully melted, set aside.

4. Dredge the chicken in potato starch and deep fry for 5 to 6 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

5. Toss fried chicken with the hot sauce, serve with hot steamed rice and garnish with green onion or chives. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra crispiness, double-fry the chicken.

Adjust the amount of hot sauce to your preferred spice level.

Serve with jasmine rice, fried rice, or even inside bao buns for a fun twist.

Use cornstarch as an alternative to potato starch if unavailable.
