Ingredients
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 ½ cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar (grated)
- ½ cup Parmesan (grated)
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil macaroni until al dente; drain.
- In a saucepan, melt butter, add garlic, then stir in flour and mustard powder.
- Slowly add milk, whisking to form a smooth sauce.
- Stir in cheddar, Parmesan, nutmeg, salt, and pepper until melted.
- Mix sauce with macaroni and pour into baking dish.
- Combine breadcrumbs and olive oil, sprinkle on top.
- Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
