Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 ½ cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar (grated)
  • ½ cup Parmesan (grated)
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Boil macaroni until al dente; drain.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter, add garlic, then stir in flour and mustard powder.
  • Slowly add milk, whisking to form a smooth sauce.
  • Stir in cheddar, Parmesan, nutmeg, salt, and pepper until melted.
  • Mix sauce with macaroni and pour into baking dish.
  • Combine breadcrumbs and olive oil, sprinkle on top.
  • Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
