Description

This Paula Deen Chicken and Stuffing Casserole is the ultimate comfort food—warm, creamy, and hearty with layers of tender chicken, savory stuffing, and rich cream of chicken sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or cozy Sunday dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size chunks
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 (6 ounce) box chicken flavored stuffing mix
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup and milk until smooth.

3. Place the chicken chunks into the prepared baking dish, season with salt and pepper, and spread them out in an even layer.

4. Pour the soup mixture over the chicken, spreading it evenly to cover all the pieces.

5. Sprinkle the dry stuffing mix evenly over the top of the soup layer.

6. Slowly drizzle the chicken broth over the dry stuffing, ensuring all of it is moistened.

7. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the casserole is hot, bubbly, and the stuffing is golden brown.

9. Serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, try adding sautéed onions or celery to the casserole before baking.

You can substitute turkey for the chicken to make this a great post-holiday leftover dish.

Make sure the stuffing is evenly moistened with broth to avoid dry spots on top.
