Description

This flavorful turkey marinade uses simple, real ingredients to enhance any cut of turkey. With citrus, garlic, herbs, and olive oil, it’s the perfect way to add juicy, aromatic flavor before cooking your turkey.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
  • 12 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, combine all marinade ingredients. Whisk well to combine.

2. Pat turkey dry with paper towels.

3. Place turkey in a suitable container or resealable bag depending on the cut (breast, tenderloin, or whole turkey).

4. Pour marinade over the turkey, ensuring it is fully coated.

5. Cover and refrigerate for 30–60 minutes to allow flavors to soak in.

6. Remove turkey from marinade, letting excess liquid drip off.

7. Cook turkey using your preferred method.

Notes

This recipe makes about 3/4 cup of marinade. Scale up for a whole turkey as needed.

To make it gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with coconut aminos or tamari.

Do not marinate longer than 60 minutes, as the citrus may start to break down the meat.

Use with turkey breast, tenderloin, or whole turkey for juicy, flavorful results.
