- 2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons wasabi paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped dill pickles
- 1/3 cup crispy jalapeño chips, crushed
- 1/3 cup finely chopped apple
- 1/2 cup canned corn kernels, drained
- 1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
- 10 ounces tuna packed in olive oil, drained
- Sea salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, wasabi paste, and Italian seasoning to make the dressing.
2. Add the chopped red onion, dill pickles, crushed jalapeño chips, chopped apple, corn, and thawed peas.
3. Stir until all ingredients are evenly coated in the dressing.
4. Gently fold in the drained tuna until just combined.
5. Taste and season with sea salt and pepper as needed.
6. Serve immediately with extra pickles or tortilla chips, or chill until ready to serve.
Notes
Tuna packed in olive oil adds richness, but tuna in water can be used for a lighter option.
Crispy jalapeño chips can be substituted with crushed tortilla chips or spicy potato chips.
Wasabi paste may be replaced with horseradish or Dijon mustard for a different heat profile.
Frozen peas can be swapped with fresh peas or even finely chopped green beans.
For a sweeter twist, substitute the apple with grapes or dried cranberries.
Add extra mayonnaise or a spoonful of Greek yogurt for a creamier texture.
Adjust salt, pepper, and wasabi to suit your taste preferences.
