Description
This keto cheeseburger salad delivers all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger in a fresh, low-carb salad bowl with seasoned beef, crispy bacon, cheese, pickles, and a creamy special sauce.
Ingredients
- 16 oz ground beef
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder, plus additional 1/8 tsp
- 1/4 tsp onion powder, plus additional 1/8 tsp
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 12 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 head romaine lettuce, sliced
- 1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
- 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup pickles
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup sugar-free ketchup
- 1/4 cup sugar-free mayonnaise
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/8 tsp pepper for dressing
Instructions
1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, then drain if necessary.
2. Return the beef to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar-free ketchup, mayonnaise, vinegar, olive oil, and pepper to make the special sauce.
4. Drizzle a little dressing around the inside of a large salad bowl.
5. Add the lettuce, pickles, onions, tomatoes, bacon, shredded cheese, and cooked beef to the bowl.
6. Toss the salad well to combine and coat lightly with dressing.
7. Drizzle additional dressing over the top and serve immediately.
Notes
Use sugar-free ketchup and mayonnaise to keep the salad keto-friendly.
Turkey bacon can be substituted for pork bacon to reduce calories.
Store salad ingredients and dressing separately until ready to serve for best freshness.
You can prep the beef, bacon, and onions a day ahead to save time.
